Application for Rheotherm and RheoVac Instruments

Low Flow Controller

The Rheotherm Model 210 Low Flow Controller is the latest innovation from Bionetics, your process flow partner.

The key features of the Rheotherm Model 210 Low Flow Controller include:
Rheotherm Low Flow Controller

  • Precision low flow controllers with signal processing electronics and control valve integrally mounted to the sensor, installable at the process site
  • Extended temperature compensation for reliable flow control under a wide range of process conditions
  • User adjustable setpoint with optional external control
  • Capable of controlling a wide range of liquid or gas flows
  • Analog flow output signal available

What Can We Measure?
The Rheotherm Model 210 Low Flow Controller can be used to measure and control the continuous flow of most gases and homogeneous liquids with low or high viscosity. The unique design of our inline sensors provides compatibility with most fluids. Contact us using the form on this page to work with one of our flow application specialists to discuss your specific process requirements.

Like all Rheotherm instruments, the Rheotherm Model 210 Low Flow Controller is capable of measuring extremely low flow rates while providing accurate results. It is designed for high reliability, and requires little to no regular maintenance to maintain accuracy. The typical flow ranges that can be controlled are:

Liquids Gases
Min: 0.05 cc/min Min: 0.0017 SCFM
Max: 2000 cc/min Max: 3 SCFM

NOTE: actual flow ranges may be fluid dependent

How does it Work?
The desired flow rate setpoint is set in the flow controller and may be adjusted by the user (either manually or remotely depending on the model). As the fluid flows through the sensor, the temperature of the fluid and a reference temperature are measured by RTDs on the outside of the flow tube. The difference in temperature is converted to a mass flow signal by the flow controller electronics. This signal is directly proportional to the total mass flow through the mass flow controller. This data is used by the control valve to actively control the flow to the given setpoint.

How Are They Installed?
The Rheotherm Model 210 Low Flow Controller incorporates an in-line flow sensor that is typically installed with plain tube-end fittings suitable for compression fittings, but optionally available with other fittings as required by the application.
